 An HSA-eligible HDHP is a comprehensive health plan with an annual deductible of at least $1,100 for an individual and $2,200 for a family.

To participate in an HSA-eligible plan, an employee cannot have an additional low-deductible plan that provides coverage for benefits that are covered by the HDHP. Additionally, he or she cannot be enrolled in Medicare or claimed as a dependent on another person's tax return.
